DDS Example

Postby IanMac » May 23rd, 2011, 11:50 am

This DDS example runs with both PrismTech OpenSplice and RTI DDS with VS2008 Express. It works with Rhapsody 7.5.2 (mr1) but may work with later releases.

It is a very simple example that is intended as a starting point ("Hello World") for SOA with DDS middleware.

Within the DocumentationPkg there's a ppt and siteC++.prp file.

Hello Ian,

I have downloaded the Stopwatch example you posted.

I now have Rhapsody 7.5.3.1 generated code compiled using MSVS 2008 sp1 running with RTI DDS 4.5d under Windows 7.

siteC++.prp is in a different place in Windows 7:
C:\Users\dan\IBM\Rational\Rhapsody\7.5.3\Share\Properties (for me)

I deleted the OpenSplice build specifications as I don’t have OSPL installed. I then did a ‘Re Generate Entire Project’ and ‘Re Build Entire Project’ and now have three .EXE files.

I missed your presentation. What is the proper sequence to start the apps?

Best regards,
- dan

I've added some further slides to the original .ppt to explain how to run the system.
